  • Otaru Harbor

    Head out past the breakwater into open waters. the views of downtown Otaru from the sea are special in their own right.

  • Otaru Herring Mansion

    Enjoy the fragrance of the sea at the fishing port of Shukutsu. On the highland nearby you can see the Hiyoriyama Lighthouse, the Otaru Aquarium, and Hokkaido’ s largest herring mansion from when Otaru’ s herring fishery was at its height.

  • Otamoi Karamon Gate

    A giant stone lantern can be seen atop a sea cliff at the former site of the Ryugukaku, a beautiful Japanese-style banquet hall. The trail leading there was closed due to landslides, so this sight can only be seen from the sea.

  • Tsurukakeiwa Rock

    Tsurukakeiwa Rock is the farthest point on the Aobato’s course, and is a place where you can enjoy beautiful views of Otamoi’ s lushly forested coastline and majestic sea cliffs. On fine days the water surface there shines a brilliant emerald green.
